The full list of nominations for the 2011 Brit Awards has been announced today, with Mumford & Sons and The xx carrying the rock torch with three nominations each, while Arcade Fire and Kings Of Leon receive nods in two categories.
The two British bands will go head-to-head in the British Group and British Breakthrough categories, while the pair also follow their respective Mercury Music Prize nominations with a spot in the British Album section.
Five albums into their career, The National receive a nomination in the International Breakthrough list alongside The Temper Trap, and strangely, the cast of hit TV show Glee.
Arcade Fire‘s third studio album ‘The Suburbs‘ will go up against the likes of Cee Lo Green, Kings Of Leon and Katy Perry for International Album while, as previously announced, UK songwriter Jessie J will pick up the Critics’ Choice award.
The Brit Awards ceremony will move from its now traditional Earls Court home to be held at the O2 Arena, London, on February 15th.
