Kings Of Leon Cancel March Tour Dates

Kings Of Leon have been forced to postpone a series of Australian and South African tour dates as drummer Nathan Followill recovers from surgery.

The drummer had an operation after suffering a torn bicep, and has told followers on Twitter he needs more time to allow the injury to heal. “My bum wing needs more time to heal but we’ll be back later this year,” he wrote. “Sorry again.”

Meanwhile, Nathan’s brother, bass player Jared, has also used Twitter to confirm the band’s impending time off, writing: “Well, I now have March off. Any ideas for fun? I could always fly down to Australia and party anyway. I need some sun.”

Kings Of Leon are out on the road in support of fifth studio album ‘Come Around Sundown’. Late last year, a scheduled gig at London’s O2 Arena was also cancelled when a fire broke out on a tour bus at the venue.

The affected tour dates, which are due to be rescheduled for Novembers, are as follows:

MARCH
Brisbane QSAC Stadium (6)
Sydney Acer Arena (8, 10)
Adelaide Oval (13)
Melbourne Rod Laver Arena (17, 18)
Perth nib Stadium (21)
Cape Town Stadium (24)
Johannesburg FNB Stadium (27)
