Foo Fighters have given fans the first taste of their forthcoming album after posting a 30 second clip on their official website.

The clip features a classic Foo Fighters riff, is complimented with Dave Grohl singing the line ‘these are my famous last words’, and shows enough to back up Grohl’s claims that the record will be the Foo’s heaviest to date.

The album has been recorded with Grohl’s former Nirvana cohort Butch Vig, and will also feature a cameo on one track from Krist Novoselic. Foo Fighters debuted new material at a show in LA last December, such as ‘White Limo’, ‘Back & Forth’ and ‘Rosemary‘.

The rock heavyweights are due to play a series of large outdoor gigs in the UK this summer, which will include appearances at the Isle Of Wight, Oxegen and T in The Park festivals. They will also perform two dates at the Milton Keynes Bowl on the 2nd and 3rd of July, where support will come from Biffy Clyro and Tame Impala amongst others.
