Foo Fighters Finish Work On New Album

Dave Grohl has confirmed Foo Fighters have finished work on their new album, and has declared it their biggest sounding collection to date.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, Grohl discussed a raw, highly charged group of songs, which have been recorded in as traditional a fashion as possible. “There’s 11 songs and front to back there’s not one sleepy ballad,” he said. “We did it without any computers and it just sounds massive.”

Foo Fighters’ recording sessions have gained headlines over the past few months thanks to a mini Nirvana reunion due to the band’s decision to bring in the services of Butch Vig, who worked with Grohl on the classic album ‘Nevermind‘, as well as a planned collaboration with former Nirvana member Krist Novoselic.

Dave Grohl has recently claimed the new album will contain the ‘best song he has ever written’, and is thus unsure as to which track to release as their comeback single, telling Zane that he “doesn’t know what the single is going to be, it’s hard to choose because it sounds like there’s more than one.”

The new album is expected to released in the Spring.
