NPR Music is to offer fans the opportunity to sample albums by the likes of Bright Eyes and Earth weeks ahead of the release dates, as part of their ‘First Listen’ series.

The recordings will be available on-demand from npr.org/music, where complete track listings and album information can be found. NPR Music also offers archives of concerts, interviews and reviews of artists from across the musical spectrum. Many of the site’s features are also available through the NPR Music App for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Bright Eyes’ new record ‘The People’s Key‘ is the most high profile new release to be featured on the site, while Seattle-based Earth’s ‘Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light: I‘ is also streaming, and is described by NPR Music’s Lars Gotrich as not departing “much from guitarist Dylan Carlson‘s method, but it does continue to refine his heavy vision.”

Michael Benjamin Lerner‘s second studio album under the Telekinesis banner, labelled as ’12 eclectic songs which document loss, rage and hope’, has been produced by Chris Walla, and can be heard here.
