David Grohl Winner of NME Godlike Genius Award

The Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 is today proud to announce the winner of its prestigious NME Godlike Genius Award: front man of multi-platinum-selling rock band Foo Fighters and US rock legend, Dave Grohl.

Grohl will pick up the NME Godlike Genius Award in person – and perform with Foo Fighters – at the exclusive Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 ceremony at the O2 Academy Brixton on Wednesday February 23rd.

Popstar Rihanna scores a coveted chart double this week as her single ‘What’s My Name?’ climbs one place to join her album ‘Loud’ on the top of the UK charts. Elsewhere on the Album chart, Cee Lo Green’s LP ‘The Lady Killer’ climbs nine places to re-enter the top ten (#4), while Mumford & Sons’ ‘Sigh No More’ drops one place to no.5 on its 66th week in the UK Album chart.
