Beady Eye have announced their debut festival appearance today with the news that they will play the main stage on the Sunday night at the 2011 Isle Of Wight festival.

In a role reversal of their previous billings, Liam Gallagher and his ex-Oasis bandmates will play before headliners and good friends Kasabian take to the stage, after the Leicester band previously supported Oasis on numerous occasions during the final years of their career.

Commenting on the booking, a spokesperson for the festival said: “It’s sure to be an explosive show. The band gave fans a taster of what’s to come, making ‘Bring The Light‘ available as a free download earlier this year, and now become a much anticipated addition to the Isle of Wight Festival line-up.”

Plans for Beady Eye are now well in motion, with a new, sold out UK tour already confirmed, while the title of their debut album, ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding‘, was also unveiled recently.

Kings Of Leon and Foo Fighters will join Kasabian as headliners at Isle Of Wight next June, while Pulp‘s return to the live scene constitutes another landmark booking for the festival.
