Cast, the recently reformed Britpop band led by former La’s bassist John Power, have unveiled details of an innovative new way to raise funds for a new album, one which will see fans donating money in return for various rewards.

Under the scheme, the public will be allowed to donate towards the making of the record via pledgemusic.com, and will then receive the album upon completion. More generous pledges will also be in with a chance of receiving various other rewards, and could be given the opportunity to meet the band themselves. Portions of the donated money will also go towards the homeless charity Shelter.

In 1995, Cast’s debut album ‘All Change‘ propelled the Liverpool group to the forefront of the Britpop scene sweeping the UK at the time, and spawned the hit singles ‘Alright‘, ‘Finetime‘, and ‘Walkaway‘. A new deluxe, double-CD edition of the album has recently been released, and features new demos and live recordings.

Cast’s return will also include a large UK tour, beginning this month in Newcastle.
