Keep this in mind if you’re a fan of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, it’s sure to pop up at some point. A summit meeting of the NATO Heads Of State and Government has forced Arcade Fire to cancel a sold out gig in Portugal, as security officials have said their resources are being stretched due to the conflicting times of the events.

The band had been set to kick off their European tour, in support of third studio album ‘The Suburbs‘, at Lisbon’s Atlantica Pavilion venue on November 18th, but have now announced the postponement with the summit taking place in the city on November 19th and 20th. The band had offered to play the city a day earlier than scheduled, but had the request turned down by organisers.

The band’s manager, Scott Rodger, offered his apologies to fans, and disclosed their plans to return to the city at the earliest opportunity. “The band are disappointed to be forced into this situation but there’s nothing more we can do,” he said. “We will refund all tickets and we’ll endeavour to get back to see our fans in Portugal as soon as we can.”

Tickets for the show will be refunded in full from the point of purchase from November 3rd.
