LCD Soundsystem To Release New Live Album

LCD Soundsystem have announced details of a new live album to be released this month.

According to Pitchfork, the record will be entitled ‘The London Sessions‘, and is due for release on November 9th via iTunes. Fans will then be able to download the album until it’s withdrawal from iTunes on December 6th.

The release is to feature nine tracks recorded at London’s The Pool/Miloco Studios on June 29th, and includes favourites such as ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House‘ along side tracks taken from their recent studio album ‘This Is Happening‘.

This Is Happening‘, James Murphy‘s third studio album, was released in the UK on May 17th, and followed a day later in the US. Recording sessions, which took place at legendary producer Rick Rubin‘s famous Mansion, began in 2009 and ran into the early months of this year. The LP’s first single, ‘Drunk Girls‘, was issued in April.

LCD Soundsystem will begin their short co-headline UK tour with Hot Chip at London’s Alexandra Palace venue on November 10th, and will then visit Cardiff and Sheffield, before wrapping the dates up at the Manchester Apollo on November 15th.
