Editors have announced their plans to begin work on a new album next year via a post on their official website.

In the posting, Editors confirmed they will begin rehearsals shortly, and will also be looking to work once again with Mark ‘Flood’ Ellis, who produced their 2009 album ‘In This Light and On This Evening‘, with a view to finishing the sessions some time next year.

“Another year races towards its end and Editors are a hive of activity” the wrote. “It won’t be long until we’re together again as a band rehearsing the first ideas for album 4. Obviously it’s a big task but we have songs now and the wheels are well and truly in motion. The idea is to record in stages over 2011 but first things must come first and we need to get into a room together and play, see where the ideas take us. These are exciting times and we’re all looking forward to taking our relationship with Mr Flood further… first rehearsals start in a matter of days.”

Editors are also set to release a new Best Of collection entitled ‘Editors: The Complete Collection‘ in February, which will be available for pre-order from this Thursday (2nd Dec).
