Carl Barat Predicts More Libertines Gigs

Carl Barat has hinted at a prolonged Libertines reunion, following the band’s successful return at the Reading/Leeds festivals last August.

Barat outlined his intentions to German music blog Blogs.taz.de, and predicted ‘a few more gigs’ for the band, but also spoke of his reluctance and becoming embroiled in a continuous reunion tour.

“I think we’re probably going to play a few more gigs,” he said. “Playing the same sort of thing, but I wouldn’t keep doing that. Every band is doing a reunion and we would never get together and do an ‘Up The Bracket’ tour for three years around the world. Now we’ve got the option to start a new chapter. So that’s a nice option to have. I don’t know if and when we’re going take it up.”

Not long after The Liberines’ return, Barat released his self-titled debut solo album on October 4th, who’s lead single ‘Run With The Boys‘ was issued on the same date.
