Britain’s latest ‘Big Freeze’, a snowfall can’t be anything else these days, has forced singer-songwriter Laura Marling to cancel her scheduled gig in Aberdeen, Scotland tonight (Nov 29th).

I’m not talking about the headlining horses from Leeds nor openers Young Legionnaire who I’d missed, but New Yorkers Gay for Johnny Depp, who’s reputation for both anarchy and ambiguity precedes them tonight. Anyone here for a casual pint and some punk rock was in for a shock.

Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie has said he hopes Beady Eye, the band formed by ex-Oasis members following Noel Gallagher‘s walkout in August 2009, will be a huge success, but has admitted he is yet to hear any of the band’s new material.
