The Wombats Release Free Download

The Wombats have released an exclusive free download, “Jump Into The Fog,” from their forthcoming new album, set for a February 10, 2011 release. Produced by Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party), “Jump Into The Fog” has been described as The Wombats’ “brilliant curveball” track, seeing them sound like New Order hooking up with The Horrors, whilst still retaining their knack for a killer catchy hook.

Kings of Leon Sell Out Slane Castle Gig in 40 Minutes

The early bird got the worm, as always. All 80’00 tickets to Kings of Leon much anticipated concert at Slane Castle in Ireland have been snapped up in under an hour. The 2011 gig will mark the 30 year anniversary of the event.

Live4ever Presents: The Americans feat. Sean Lennon

There hasn’t been a band quite like The Americans in a long while. A long line of bands have tried their hand at retro ‘60s pop; that rich vein of groove and wistfulness originated by the likes of Berry Gordy’s Motown acts, and The Beatles’ string of number one singles. Sadly, in trying to bottle that lightning, those same bands (hands up, Magic Numbers) miss the point of that music – the brazen inventiveness and sonic explorations into the unknown. Thankfully for ears and attention spans everywhere, The Americans (currently unsigned) seem much more interested in innovation than veneration.
