Visa delays for two of the band members forced Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil to begin their tour of the US acoustically when they arrived in Boston last night (13/9).
After Ben and James Johnston were held up in London, a statement on the band’s official website gave news of the cancellation of the full gig, and offered fans a full refund for the show. “Unfortunately Biffy Clyro will not be performing in Boston due to immigration/visa delays in London,” they explained. “However, Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro is here and will be performing several songs acoustically. All tickets will be refunded and admittance will be free of charge. The members of Biffy Clyro sincerely apologise to everyone for this unforeseen occurrence.”
The group are in the US in support of their well received fifth studio album ‘Only Revolutions‘, which peaked at #3 on the UK Album chart and was nominated for this year’s Mercury Music Prize.
Biffy Clyro are due to visit cities such as Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and San Francisco during their tour, before they return to the UK for a series of dates in November which will begin in their native Scotland on the 25th.
