Veteran musician Eric Clapton has unveiled the tracklisting for his upcoming solo album, his first in five years.

Simply entitled ‘Clapton‘, the LP will be released in the UK on September 27th, with the US release following a day later. The record will encompass a mix of original tracks and covers, and will feature guest appearances from the likes of Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint and Derek Trucks.

Commenting on the new record, Clapton revealed he believes the new release has benefited from him taking a relaxed approach to it’s evolution. “It’s actually better than it was meant to be because, in a way, I just let it happen,” he said. “It’s an eclectic collection of songs that weren’t really on the map – and I like it so much because if it’s a surprise to the fans, that’s only because it’s a surprise to me, as well.”
