Legendary songwriter Bob Dylan has unveiled details of plans to curb ticket touting at his gigs. In an attempt to cut prices and avoid touts, Dylan is to make his show at The Warfield in San Francisco available only through payment on the night at the venue.

There will now be no advanced tickets for the gig which takes place tomorrow night (25/8), with fans instead being asked to pay $60 in cash on the door for a general admission ticket. It is hoped the move will cut out the hike in prices seen due to ticket handling and processing fees, as well as eliminating the opportunity for tickets being re-sold above face value.

Speaking about the proposed move, David Lefkowitz, a representative for Goldenvoice, said he believes the new venture will be a ‘breath of fresh air’: “Given the state of touring and how fees have escalated, it was a real breath of fresh air to do something very consumer oriented by eliminating all ticketing charges. It’s almost a throwback to another time.”

Fans are advised to begin queueing outside the venue from 12pm (PDT). Doors open at 5.30pm (PDT), while the show is due to begin at 8pm (PDT). Tickets are limited to one per person.
