Review: Adam Parker – ‘Oh My’

Posted on 27 Jul 2010 at 10:39am

Tired of the overpopulated, homogeneous singer-songwriter market that’s awash with mediocrity? Then please welcome Adam Parker, a man who offers something refreshingly new and inspired with his debut single, ‘Oh My’.

The track is by no means a typical indie, acoustic, singer-songwriter-by- numbers-effort. On the contrary, it transcends genres and boasts a very modern feel. ‘Oh My’ opens with an electronic loop that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Lady Gaga record, then progresses with an acoustic driven sound that brings us to an understated chorus which would fit the glove perfectly on an Elbow album.
