This Week’s UK Indie Charts & Gig Guide For June 21st


Here you’ll find all the latest news from this week’s UK Indie Album and Singles Charts, as well as Live4ever’s highlights taken from some of our featured tours going on in a major city near you over the next 7 days.

The Gaslight Anthem’s third studio LP ‘American Slang‘ has ended Katie Melua’s stay at the top of the Indie Album chart, while We Are Scientists are also new entries in the top ten with their record ‘Barbara‘, which enters at #6. Elsewhere, The xx’s brilliant debut re-enters the top ten in it’s 44th week on the chart, and outside the top ten Ed Harcourt’s new album ‘Lustre‘ debuts at #12.




British rapper Example is on top of the Indie Singles chart this week with his new track ‘Kickstarts‘, which joins his previous single ‘Won’t Go Quietly‘ in the top ten. Fat Les’ 1998 unofficial World Cup song ‘Vindaloo‘ remains in the top ten this week as England bid to stutter into the knockout stages of this year’s tournament.

Essex-based singer-songwriter Sam Duckworth, aka Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly begins a large UK tour this week in support of his as-yet-untitled third studio album which is set for release in September. Sam released his acclaimed debut album ‘The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager’ in 2006, which was followed in 2008 by ‘Searching for the Hows and Whys’.
