Keane Are Late Additions To Glastonbury Festival

Keane have announced they will be joining in the celebrations at the 40th anniversary of Glastonbury this month after confirming they will appear at the festival just over two weeks before this year’s event is due to get under way.

Keane have revealed that they will play an acoustic set at the site’s Avalon Stage on the Sunday (27/6) at 4.35pm.

Despite a hectic schedule around the time of the festival thanks to their own forest tour, the Sussex trio have found time to play at the festival thanks to their desire to be involved in Glastonbury’s anniversary year. “We’ve been going to Glastonbury as punters for years now,” says Keane frontman Tom Chaplin. “I love it there – we all do.  The atmosphere simply cannot be beaten and it’s the best place to stumble upon all sorts of amazing acts. The festival clashes with our UK Forest Tour this year but we really wanted to get involved with their 40th anniversary celebrations so at the last minute we’ve decided to play an acoustic set on the Avalon Stage on Sunday afternoon.  We’ll be arriving during the early hours of Sunday morning so will get to enjoy the last day of the festival too.”

Their show is due to last for around an hour, “and then,” says Chaplin, “we’ll get straight out there to enjoy the rest of the festival.”

Keane recently scored their fourth UK no.1 album with the release of the eight-track EP ‘Night Train‘ last month.
