On May 11, Villagers will release their limited edition ‘Becoming A Jackal‘ 7″ featuring the album track “Twenty-Seven Strangers” on the flip. Domino Records is now giving away a download of the single “Becoming A Jackal” to preview the 7″ and forthcoming debut album out June 8 in the U.S. Grab it here
Frontman Conor J. O’Brien, who co-produced and plays almost all the instruments on ‘Becoming A Jackal,’ also drew the evocative album art (on the right). Conor was 12-years-old when he wrote his first song, and he picked up painting and drawing at an early age from his father. In a recent interview with AOL Spinner, O’Brien explains the art of ‘Becoming A Jackal’ explores “the scavenging nature of the human being as it grows and changes.”
