features_gaslightNew Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem are streaming a new track taken from their forthcoming third album ‘American Slang‘.

Entitled ‘Boxer‘, the track is being aired on the band’s Myspace page and is set to be followed by more tracks from the new record over the next few weeks.

American Slang‘ will be The Gaslight Anthem’s first release since 2008′s ‘The ’59 Sound‘, which was widely acclaimed and became a cult hit. Frontman Brian Fallon recently told Gibson.com that the new tracks intended for the follow-up were written from a more personal perspective than on their previous albums. “I don’t usually write songs about being in a band,” he said. “I don’t think people would find that very interesting. This record has to do with me as a person. I’ve been chasing this dream of being a musician all my life with everything inside me. I never really dealt with myself and what I felt and what had happened to me all my life. I was moving so fast I ignored a lot of feelings and buried them way down. This record’s about personal things.”

The new album is set for release on June 14th, and will be preceded by the title track, which will hit the shelves on May 24th.
