Paul Weller will release the second single from his acclaimed tenth solo studio album ‘Wake Up The Nation‘ on June 14th.
The single will be a double A-side consisting of ‘Find The Torch, Burn the Plans‘ and ‘Aim High‘ and will be released digitally as well as on both CD and vinyl formats.
Speaking about the two tracks which make up the double A-side, Weller described ‘Find The Torch, Burn The Plans‘ as similar to the album’s title track, and also explained the writing process behind ‘Aim High‘: “Thematically, it ties in with the title track of the album. We’ve got to reclaim our heritage and our culture. Claim it back from the fucking politicians and the establishment. My daughter and her mate sang on it too. ‘Aim High‘ was initially one phrase repeated over and over. I hit that falsetto voice, which was nice because I haven’t used it for a long time. Once I had the melody I wrote the words really quickly.”
Paul Weller is set for busy year with five sold out dates at London’s Royal Albert Hall coming up at the end of this month.
