Rock giants Muse have been discussing their upcoming headline appearance at next month’s Glastonbury Festival, promising fans the show will involve them doing  ‘something we’ve never done before’.

Muse’s spectacular live shows have helped to catapult them into the rock n roll big league over the last decade, and their brilliant live reputation makes their appearance at the 40th anniversary of the festival one of the most anticipated of the summer.

Speaking to Steve Harris, drummer Dominic Howard revealed that Muse will be pulling out all the stops as they compete with another huge live attraction, U2, at the event: “It’s going to be great,” he said. “We’re playing Saturday night and we’ll be doing something a little bit special for that show and doing something we’ve never done before, possibly incorporating some other musicians, which is going to be really fun.”

Dom also revealed that Muse plan to air some older tracks at their upcoming stadium tour in September: “We’re getting ready for that, looking at the set, making sure it all works and learning how to play some songs that we haven’t played for years.”

Alongside Muse and U2, this year’s Glastonbury Festival will also see a headline performance from Motown legend Stevie Wonder.
