More recognition for Florence & The Machine today as the singer and her bandmates were revealed to have been nominated in four categories for this year’s Mojo Awards.

Florence is up for Breakthrough Act, where she will face stiff competition from folksters Mumford & Sons, as well as rockers The Jim Jones Revue, John Grant and The Low Anthem. Her hugely successful debut LP ‘Lungs‘ has received a nod in the Best Album category, while her cover of the track ‘You’ve Got The Love‘ is mentioned for the Song Of The Year award.

Hot on the heels of Florence are Kasabian, who are named alongside her in the Best Live act section, and will also provide competition for the Song Of The Year (‘Fire‘) and Album Of The Year (‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum‘). Elsewhere, Sheffield-based acts Arctic Monkeys and Richard Hawley have two nominations each, and Hawkwind will be handed the Maverick Award, about which Mojo’s editor-in-chief, Phil Alexander said: “Despite the fact that they have rarely flirted with the mainstream, their music and their attitude has inspired so many different areas of modern music.”

The awards will be handed out in London on June 10th.
