After a “sever compression of the sciatic nerve” forced U2‘s lead man Bono to have emergency back surgery last week, The Edge has come forward and posted a video statement regarding the stars condition. Just today it was announced that The Gorillaz would fill in for U2 at this year’s Glastonbury headlining spot. The band is also forced to post pone the next leg of their U2-360 Tour.
The Edge reported jokingly, “I spoke to Bono immediately, like, a few hours after he came out of the operation, but he wasn’t making any sense, I can tell you. Whatever he was on, he didn’t remember any of the conversation, which is a shame because he promised me his car and various other valuables…a few paintings. But he claims not to remember that conversation.”
