Interpol Finishes Recording New Album – Carlos Dengler Quits Band

New Yorker’s Interpol have announced that bassist Carlos Dengler will not be joining the band on their world tour in support of its newly finished album this summer. Dengler has left the band to pursue new career goals. The official site had following message posted for its fans:

UK Indie Charts For 9th May

Acclaimed US rockers The Hold Steady are number one in this week’s UK Indie Album chart with their fifth studio LP ‘Heaven Is Whenever‘. There are five other new entries in the Album chart, with experimental producer Flying Lotus debuting at #3 with his third album ‘Cosmogramma‘, while eclectic British blues act Alabama 3 land at #4 with their seventh record ‘Revolver Soul‘. American songwriter Steve Mason enters at #7, Status Quo veteran Francis Rossi is at #8 with his second solo album ‘One Step At a Time‘ and former Del Amitri member Justin Currie completes the new entries, coming in at #9.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Have 20 New Songs Ready

Red Hot Chili Peppers and Chickenfoot drummer, Chad Smith, revealed that the group are set to begin recording their next album sometime around July

Chad told musicradar: “We have a lot of material, probably about 20 songs”

This will be the US rockers’ tenth studio album and will have Rick Rubin take the producer’s seat.
