Pop superstar Madonna has been named as the most played artist of the last ten years in the UK, according to a rundown announced today. The singer finished ahead of The Beatles and Robbie Williams in the list which was compiled by PPL for BBC Radio 2.
The list was drawn up using figures from airplay, along with public performances in venues such as pubs, clubs and restaurants.
As well as The Beatles, other veteran acts such as Elvis Presley and Queen were included in the top 10, while Coldplay and Sugababes were the only two acts featured who began releasing music during the last decade.
