Black Rebel Motorcycle have covered The Pogues’ classic track ‘Dirty Old Town‘ which featured on their 1985 LP ‘Rum, Sodomy & The Lash‘, while Raveonettes have re-worked The Stone Roses’ seminal hit ‘I Wanna Be Adored‘. Other tracks featured on the record include R&B singer Dam Funk’s take on ‘The Things Dreams Are Made Of‘ by The Human League and the Noisettes version of Buzzcocks’Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t Have)?‘. In addition to the downloads, ten movie directors have recorded exclusive videos of the brand new tracks.

The anniversary marks the launch of the 1460 boot, which was launched on April 1st 1960, and was named after it’s date of release. Originally designed as a work boot, it was later adopted by musicians and artists and subsequently became one of the most recognisable fashion items in history.

All the featured tracks and the accompanying videos will be released periodically over the coming months, and can be downloaded for free at www.drmartens.com
