The National have released the track listing for their forthcoming new album ‘High Violet’.
Out on May 10th, the record is their first since 2007′s ‘Boxer‘ and has been produced by the group along with regular producer Peter Katis. The tracks were recorded during sessions at their own studio in in Brooklyn, New York, and at Katis’ Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The band was formed in 1999 and released their debut eponymous album two years later. In 2005 they released third studio album ‘Alligator’ which was lauded by critics and featured in many publications End Of Year lists.

In support of the new album, the band will head out on a lengthy North American tour in May, beginning in LA on the 21st. The American leg will be preceeded by two dates in London at the Electric Ballroom on May 5th and the Royal Albert Hall on May 6th.

Great news!!! I really love them. “Boxer” was my best album of 2007 and it’s stil one of my most favourite albums. Brilliant band.
I really hope they’ll tour Europe after the American tour!
