The Black Keys have announced details of their new album, which will be released in May.

Brothers‘ wil be released on May 17th and was recorded in sessions at the Muscle Shoals Sound studio in Alabama, Akron’s Easy Eye Sound System and Brooklyn’s Bunker. The majority of the record has been produced by the band, which consists of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, while previous producer Danger Mouse has worked on one track, ‘Tighten Up’.

The Black Keys formed in Ohio in 2001, and have become known for their stripped-back blues sound, which is often compared to The White Stripes. They have previously released five studio albums, the last of which was 2008’s ‘Attack & Release‘.
