Kings Of Leon Could Play New Songs This Summer

Drummer Nathan Followill has stated he hopes Kings Of Leon will premiere new material at their forthcoming UK summer shows.

According to the Daily Star newspaper, Nathan has said: “We are stoked to get back on the road. We’ve had a little break and are starting to get that itch. It will be cool to see if we can sneak in some new shit to see if the kids dig it. Late April the next musical adventure begins.”

Since the release of their smash-hit album ‘Only By The Night‘ in 2008, the band have said they intend to release a new album this year, and that it may represent a harder sound than the more commercially friendly tracks which dominated their fourth studio album. Frontman Caleb Followill told 6Music last year that they are planning on “doing something that people aren’t gonna expect from us,” while guitarist Matthew added: “We change it up every record, it may be a little grungier.” It now appears fans will be able to judge whether those plans have been realised in a few months.

The band are set to headline this year’s V Festival, while their own summer show at London’s Hyde Park sold out within minutes of going on sale.
