Gorillaz Announce First UK Show in 5 Years

gorillaz-facebookThe Demon Days Live gigs at the Manchester Opera House back in 2005 mark the last time Damon Albarn and friends have hit a British stage.

The Roundhouse appearances on 29th and 30th April will also be the group’s first London concerts since they played the Kentish Town Forum in 2001.

Guests such as De La Soul, Mos Def and Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder will be performing in front of the video animation, artwork and films by Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett.

Gorillaz fan club members get first dibs on the tickets tomorrow morning on the G-club website, while everyone else can buy them via the Roundhouse for £45 from Friday.

The fictional animated group’s Plastic Beach stayed in the UK’s Top Ten for a third straight week.
