Teenagers Riot on Oxford Street – Hole Gig Cancelled

Courtney Love and her band Hole wer unable to play a concert in London last night because of a riot near her hotel. They were scheduled to appear at the Proud Galleries in Camden for their first gig in over a decade.

A facebook arranged gathering of thousands of fans turned rowdy in Park Lane and Oxford Street, prompting police to close down the area.

An Eyewitness reported: “There was a stand off between the police and a huge group of teenagers. The police had their shields and batons raised and the teenagers were stood about 30 yards away being very rowdy. The atmosphere was pretty tense.” Afterwards youths climbed onto the roof of a five-storey townhouse nearby.

Hole are expected to appear at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on February 17, as part of the NME Awards.
