Rolling Stones Set to Reissue ‘Exile On Main St.’ With New Tracks

exileThe Rolling Stones are to re-issue their 1972 classic ‘Exile On Main St.‘ with 10 previously unreleased tracks, it was announced today.

The record will be released on May 17th, and is being issued to coincide with a new BBC Worldwide documentary called ‘Stones In Exile’. The new tracks, which include ‘Plundered My Soul’, ‘Dancing In The Light’, ‘Following the River’ and ‘Pass The Wine’ were re-discovered during research being conducted for the new re-issue.

Released in May 1972, ‘Exile On Main St.’ was the band’s tenth studio album and was a huge commercial success for the group despite some initial lukewarm reviews from critics. The record was the culmination of four years of work by the band while they were at the peak of their powers; the classic releases ‘Beggars Banquest’ (’68), ‘Let It Bleed’ (’69), and ‘Sticky FIngers’ (’71) had all immediately preceded the double album.

A ‘super deluxe’ package of the album will also come with vinyl, a 30-minute documentary DVD, and a 50-page collector’s book.
