Details of the free gig promised by the members of Rage Against The Machine last Christmas have emerged today.

The concert, which was first mentioned during the now famous battle for the Christmas No.1 between the band and X Factor winner Joe McElderry, will take at London’s Finsbury Park on June 6th.

At the height of the publicity surrounding the race to top the charts, guitarist Tom Morello wrote: “Attention Freedom Fighters! RAGE VS. X-FACTOR WILL BE DECIDED BY SATURDAY’S SALES. Spread the word! Knock on doors! Host downloading parties! Knock over ladies buying X-Factor! The clock is ticking. And if ‘Killing In The Name’ is number one WE ARE COMING. And it will be the victory party to end all victory parties.” Of course, Rage did go on to win the battle, after shifting over 500,00 copies  of ‘Killing In The Name‘ during the Christmas week.

Fans can register for tickets at www.TheRageFactor.co.uk until midnight (GMT), Sunday February 14th. Following registration, a maximum of two tickets per person will be released on a rolling lottery basis from 9am (GMT) on February 17th. Demand is likely to be huge, so good luck!
