Tickets for “WE ARE PLASTIC ONO BAND” sold out almost immediately! But, Yoko was not happy that some of her most dedicated fans were shut out so she came up with the idea of opening the doors to the public for a very rare concert experience.

On February 15th, BAM will host a dress rehearsal/warm-up show of Yoko Ono and her core band: Sean Lennon, Yuka Honda, and Cornelius (Keigo Oyamada, Shimmy Hirotaka Shimizu and Yuko Araki).  They have never done anything like this before, and probably never will again. You will experience Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band in their rawest, most revealing moment. While no special guest artists are being advertised to rehearse this day…who knows?

“It’s been incredible to watch the public demand soar for more Yoko Ono, following her wonderful new record, ‘Between My Head and the Sky’” said producer, Jared Geller.  “Adding this dress rehearsal performance will allow audience members a unique opportunity to witness the creative process of one of the great performers of our time.”

Tickets for the “Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band Dress Rehearsal” event go on-sale Tuesday, February 2nd at noon.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.BAM.org or by calling 718-636-4100.  Tickets will range from $19.90 – $65.00, with a large number of special-price $29.90 tickets.

Launched in 1969 with the single “Give Peace a Chance”, Plastic Ono Band is known worldwide for its avant-garde music, film, art and activism. Early ’70s albums by the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band have proven to be influential and ahead-of-their-time.

40 years later, Yoko has revived the name and spirit of Plastic Ono Band.  Between My Head And The Sky (released 9/29/09) has garnered impressive critical acclaim, including four & five-star reviews from Rolling Stone, Mojo, Spin, Uncut, Q, NME, Nylon, Pitchfork and others. Last year, Yoko was recognized with the prestigious Golden Lion lifetime achievement award at the Venice Biennale, and the Mojo Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award.
