This Week’s UK Charts For January 24th

owlcity_adamyoungAfter waiting 28 weeks to get to the top, Florence & The Machine’s debut ‘Lungs‘ has stayed at #1 in this week’s Album Chart for a second consecutive week. Welsh rockers Lostprophets‘ fourth studio album ‘The Betrayed‘ has entered at #3 and Vampire Weekend’sContra‘ has held on to a top 10 spot in it’s second week, dropping six places to #9. Owl City, the new synth-inspired project from Adam Young, has swapped places with hip-hop act Iyaz to top the Singles Chart with ‘Fireflies‘.

UK rapper Example, who was once signed to the Mike Skinner (a.k.a The Streets) owned record label The Beats has two tracks in the Indie Chart, with ‘Won’t Go Quietly’ entering at #2 alongside ‘Watch The Sun Come Up’ which remains at #10.
