Australia’s Hot Export ‘The Temper Trap’ Announce US Tour

The quartet from down under, who now calls London home, is returning to the US for their first headlining tour.

The Temper Trap will tour across North America in support of their critically acclaimed debut album, Conditions, which is available now on Glassnote/Columbia.

Tokio Hotel

This Week’s Photo Feature: Tokio Hotel is a German pop rock band founded in 2001 by singer Bill Kaulitz, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, drummer Gustav Schäfer and bassist Georg Listing. The quartet have scored four number one singles and have released three number one albums in their native country, selling nearly 5 million CDs and DVDs there. Global Haiti Benifit Concert Lineups

The Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief concerts will see a line up of celebrities and musical artists lend their support for the cause which will be broadcast in Australia tomorrow from 12pm.

Among the latest stars to be announced are Beyoncé in London, Madonna in New York City, and Haitian artist Emeline Michel in Los Angeles will join Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting in New York City.

Indie Music in Crisis?

Indie music takes a back seat to more popular genres.

If the charts are the authorities of who’s hot and who’s not, it would seem that Indie lost out to dance in the music world’s popularity contest last year.

According to sales bible, ‘UK Official Chart Company’, just two British indie guitar bands appear in the top 20 selling records of 2009. On the other hand, dance and electronic-driven music are becoming the dominant styles claims Martin Talbot, the group’s managing director.
