Acclaimed Canadian group Arcade Fire have confirmed their new record will be released in May 2010, according to Billboard. Billboard also claims the band will release a new single shortly before the album hits the shelves and will hit the road for a US tour around the time of the LP’s release.
Details of the new record, their first since 2007′s ‘Neon Bible‘, have been sketchy, though it has been revealed that the band are again working with producer Markus Dravs. In addition Owen Pallet, who worked with Arcade Fire’s main songwriters Win Butler and Regine Chassagne on the score for the new film ‘The Box‘, wrote on his Twitter page: “Can’t contain it. I just completed 10 days on the best album I’ve ever had the pleasure of working on.”
Arcade Fire shot to fame in 2005 when they released their critically-acclaimed debut album ‘Funeral‘. The record spawned hit singles such as ‘Wake Up‘ and ‘Power Out‘ and has featured heavily in many publications recent lists of the Best Albums Of The Decade.
