Echo & The Bunnymen have decided  to cancel their US tour due to “unreasonable” tax demands . The band’s website confirms their plans with a statement that reads:  that it was with the “deepest regret” that they have called off the November jaunt.

“This is due to unreasonable demands presented by the IRS for the band to enter the USA to tour,” it added.

The group claims that the US Internal Revenue Service demanded that the band pay a fee to tour in the country more than once within a 30 day period.

The group were scheduled to perform on November 15 in Atlanta, GA. and now planning to reschedule some shows in the US for April 2010.

The band had just played New York City last month.
