Rap star Jay-Z has told British newspaper The Sun that he would be interested in working with Liam Gallagher after the future of Oasis was left in doubt by the departure of Noel Gallagher in August. Jay-Z’s comments come in response to a recent admission by fellow rap star Snoop Dog, who joined a growing list of acts who have declared they would like to work with Noel Gallagher.

Jay-Z told The Sun: “I hear Snoop Dogg might be teaming up with Noel. If that’s the case then I would love to work with Liam,” Jay-Z told The Sun. “Their music is tight and I think we could blend our styles well.”

“When I teamed up with Linkin Park nobody expected that to work but we made a massive success of it, the same could happen with Liam. When you have two artists like us in a room just throwing about ideas you come up with something brilliant fairly easily. I don’t know what he is up to now but he can give me a call.”

Jay-Z’s comments will be seen by some as an attempt to antagonise Noel Gallagher after the pair had a very public fallout last year when Noel famously blamed slow ticket sales for the 2008 Glastonbury festival on Jay-Z’s booking. Jay-Z went on to play a superb set at the festival – a set which included a cover of Noel’s 1995 classic ‘Wonderwall‘.

Jay-Z has recently released his 11th studio album ‘The Blueprint 3‘, which hit the top spot in the US and reached the top 10 in the UK.
