Beatles Tracks will NOT be Available on iTunes

There has been many rumours about The Beatles entire back catalogue being available to download on iTunes. However EMI Senior Executive, Ernesto Schmitt, has denied rumours of this happening.

It is true that EMI and Apple have been in talks to finally allow the site to sell the tracks as downloads, but a final agreement could not be made. “Conversations between Apple and EMI are ongoing and we look forward to the day when we can make music available digitally,” he says in his interview with The Financial Times. “But it’s not tomorrow.”

Both Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono have been reported as saying they want to see the songs on the iTunes site. So much so Yoko had said in a Sky News Interview that it was going ahead and you will be able download from today! That report has been taken down from the Sky News website and since then EMI have done the interview with The Financial Times and has confirmed this is not the case.

McCartney says he blames EMI for the songs abscence on iTunes and does hope that in the future the companies can come to some sort of agreement.
