Legendary Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has been hospitalised after falling from the stage during a gig in South Dakota.
After the incident Tyler was flown to near by hospital Rapid City Regional, where he was treated for injuries to his head, neck and shoulders.
According to spokesmen Mike Sanborn, Tyler had been dancing around on stage to fill time after the sound system failed during the band’s hit ‘Love In An Elevator’. “He put his stand down and twirled around and stepped backwards off the stage.” he said. He went on to reveal the singer was in good shape as he was being led to the hospital: “He was in good spirits when he got in the helicopter. He was talking and joking with the physician.”
Lance Robe, who was just a short distance from the stage when Tyler fell said: “You could kind of see it coming because he was dancing all over the stage.”
The band are currently on a huge North American tour with Texan rockers ZZ Top. It is not the first time Tyler has been injured on the tour; seven dates had to be cancelled in June after he injured his leg during a gig in Conneticut.
If Tyler recovers in time, the tour will hit Canada tomorrow (7th), in Winnipeg.
