The Sun newspaper is reporting tickets for Coldplay’s US tour are being sold for as little as 60p.

According to the paper, online ticket outlet Stubhub has provided the data, claiming that some tickets that were sold for dates for the band’s current US tour are now being re-sold for the paultry sum.

After the release of 2002 album ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head‘, Colplay have become one of the UK’s biggest exports, finding big success in America. The album won the 2003 Grammy award for ‘Best Alternative Music Album’, while the following year ‘Clocks‘ won a grammy for ‘Record Of The Year’.

Since then, subsequent albums ‘X&Y’ and 2008’s ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’ have further enhanced their success, with ‘Viva La Vida’ winning the band another three Grammy Awards in 2009. The band have played exstensively in the US since the release of ‘Viva La Vida‘ and have been in the US most recently since May, playing in cities such as Detroit, Las Vegas and Philadelphia. Since the release of their most recent album, Coldplay have played nearly one hundred dates in the US, which could suggest over-exposure may be a reason behind the reported cheaper offers.

They will return to the UK in September for a stadium tour which will take them to Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow and London.
