Stars including Jarvis Cocker, Editors frontman Tom Smith, Fatboy Slim and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly have appeared in a new photoshoot to support Oxfam’s campain to raise awareness for climate change. The musicians have painted themselves blue in a photoshoot as Oxfam campaigns over the coming months for a fairer climate deal.

Rising star Little Boots has also joined the campaign, saying in a statement: “Doing nothing is not the answer to fighting climate change. Go blue, demand that the Prime Minister takes the lead in protecting the people of this beautiful planet and kiss goodbye to climate change. If everyone does their bit we can save the planet.”

The campaign has been launced to coincide with this year’s Glastonbury festival, where video footage of the photoshoot will be screened at the Pyramid Stage in between acts over the course of the weekend. Oxfam are asking fans to join in during the festival season by painting themselves blue at festivals they attend.

Oxfam has cited 2009 as an important year for climate change, with world leaders set to get together in December at the United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen.
