The Latitude Festival has announced that Thom Yorke will be performing as a solo act during this year’s July event. Yorke is slated for Sunday’s main stage on July 19 in Suffolk.

This is not the first time Yorke has performed as a solo act; in 2006 the Radiohead singer released a critically acclaimed album, Eraser. Though he did not go on tour in promotion of the album, Yorke played the occasional rally and charity gig.

Festival organizer Melvin Benn is excited to set Latitude apart from other festivals through Yorke, telling the BBC: “That it is a special one off performance for Latitude only fills me with enormous pride at the statement it makes about the festival.”

After Radiohead released In Rainbows in 2007, Yorke reported that he had not written any solo songs since Eraser. The band are currently in the studio working on a new album, announced last month.
