Blur returned to the scene where two of their band members first met yesterday, performing at London’s Goldsmiths University in South London.

Guitarist, Graham Coxon, who recently rejoined the band after a seven year absence, and bassist, Alex James, are former students of the University.

The gig marks the third so far in a series of warm up shows before their headline performance on Sunday (June 28) at the Glastonbury festival, as well as other shows including 2 nights at London’s Hyde Park.

The group played a career spanning set, storming through 24 songs that highlighted the various stages of the band’s history, ranging from their debut album ‘Leisure‘ to their last studio effort ‘Think Tank‘.

Damon Albarn told the crowd, which only consisted of a few hundred fans: “I didn’t think we’d do this kind of gig again. I’m pleased we have, thanks for coming.”

Albarn also added: “I remember this place being cavernous, running around when there were bands on. It seems a lot smaller now.”

Graham Coxon recently released a new solo album, ‘The Spinning Top’ and drummer David Rountree put his law studies on hold to focus on Blur’s tour.

‘She’s So High’
