Frontman Tim Wheeler and his band Ash have big ideas for 2009. After announcing two years ago that they would no longer be releasing any conventional albums, the band is planning to release 26 singles this year as part of an “A-Z Series.”
As a prequel to the series, Ash are offering a new song free to download before officially beginning the run of single releases. “Return of White Rabbit” is already available from the band’s official site, Ash-official.com.
Throughout the run of the “A-Z Series,” Ash will release 26 singles – one every two weeks – for 12 months, beginning in September.
Tim Wheeler told NME: “We wanted to be the first people to do it like this. This is a time when you can try new ideas and it can work.”
These releases will be both digital and physical, with the latter available on CD and vinyl.
